Determine the correct decoder for your locomotive:

• TCS HO scale decoder cross-reference (click on the links for installation instructions for each type of locomotive)
• NCE decoder cross-reference (all scales)

Important! To prevent damage to the decoder make sure both motor terminals are isolated from each wheel before applying power. To test this place one probe of an Ohm meter on one of the motor terminals & the other probe on each one of the wheels, one at a time (check the inside & outside of each wheel) - if there is a reading (including zero) the motor terminals are not isolated.
